The Quick Bar (F1-F10)
What: the ten shortcut slots along the bottom of the screen, fired with F1 to F10. Holds: potions and other usable items, spells, and emotes. Costs: nothing.
The quick bar is how you drink in the middle of a fight without opening your bag. Drag a potion, a spell or an emote onto one of the ten slots, and the matching F-key uses it from then on.
Setting a slot
- Open your bag (or your skill list) and drag the icon onto a free slot. That is the whole setup -- there is no confirmation.
- Drop something else on an occupied slot to replace what is there, or drag a slot away to clear it.
- The slot shows how many you are carrying in its corner.
Potions that run out
A potion slot stays put when you run dry. The icon remains, its counter reads 0, and the key simply does nothing until you have some again -- buy more of that same potion and the slot lights up by itself, with no dragging.
This matters mid-fight: you never lose the shortcut you set up before the fight started, and you do not have to re-open your bag to get it back.
Two things worth knowing:
- The slot follows the potion TYPE, not a particular bottle. Any Painkiller fills a Painkiller slot.
- Your bar is remembered per character, so it is there again next time you log in -- including, now, a potion slot you left standing empty.
Spells and emotes
The same ten slots take spells -- dragged from your skill list -- and emotes such as sitting or dancing. A spell slot behaves exactly as clicking that spell in the list: it arms the spell, and you then click your target.
How our version differs
The stock 5065 client emptied a potion slot the moment you used the last one, so a shortcut set before a fight was gone by the middle of it and had to be dragged back from the bag. On Aurenfall the slot waits instead. The change lives in the client our launcher installs, so it is there automatically -- nothing to switch on.
Everything else about the bar is the original behaviour.
