The CelestialStone Quest
The CelestialStone is the key item you must have to go through your first rebirth. You craft one by collecting eight materials and bringing them to Celestine in Twin City. This guide walks you through it.
You only need a CelestialStone once per rebirth. See the Rebirth guide for the rebirth itself.
What you need
To refine a CelestialStone you must gather, in your bag:
- The 7 gems — one of each: Phoenix, Dragon, Fury, Rainbow, Kylin, Violet and Moon gem.
- One CleanWater.
Step 1 — Mine the 7 gems
Gems are mined with a pickaxe, just like in classic Conquer Online. Here is how:
- In Twin City, find the Mine Admin (on the western edge of town). Buy a pickaxe from him for 1000 silver, then ask him to send you into the Mine Cave.
- Equip the pickaxe (right-hand weapon slot), then dig — your character swings automatically and, every few seconds, surfaces something: mostly ore (iron/gold — sell it for silver) and, rarely, a gem.
- Keep digging until you have collected all seven gem kinds: Phoenix, Dragon, Fury, Rainbow, Kylin, Violet and Moon.
You stop mining the moment you move, unequip the pickaxe, or your bag fills up — so stand still and keep an eye on your bag space.
You need the normal gems (one of each colour) — just hold one of each in your bag. Gems are deliberately rare from the mine, so this is a patient grind.
Step 2 — Defeat the Water Lord for CleanWater (the hard part)
CleanWater is the rare, prized material. It is guarded by the Water Lord — a powerful boss that hides the celestial stream on Bird Island. Travel to Bird Island, find the Water Lord, and defeat him; he has a good chance to drop a CleanWater. He is tough and respawns slowly, so be prepared (and you may need a few attempts before the water drops).
Step 3 — Refine the Stone at Celestine
Once you hold all 7 gems + 1 CleanWater, visit Celestine in Twin City. Ask her to refine them — she consumes the eight materials and hands you a CelestialStone.
Step 4 — Get reborn
Take your CelestialStone to Eternity on the Market (reachable via any city's Conductress → "Market") and choose to be reborn. The stone is consumed in the rite. From here, follow the Rebirth guide.
Tips
- Keep bag space free while you collect — you need room for the gems, the CleanWater, and the finished Stone.
- The gems take patience; CleanWater is the gate. Gems trickle in as you mine, and the Water Lord may take a few tries — both are meant to be earned, since this is an endgame quest.
- You can collect the materials at any level, but you can only actually reborn at level 120 (110 for a Water Taoist) and only once you are fully promoted — so craft the Stone as you approach that point.
How our version differs from classic Conquer Online
- Gems are mined with a pickaxe, like in classic CO. In classic CO the gem types were split across several gem mines; we have one Mine Cave, so it yields all seven gem kinds (you do not need to travel between mines).
- The mine gem rate, the Water Lord boss, and the CleanWater drop rate are still being balanced, so they may be tuned.
