Divine Hare: the Water Taoist's escape
Who: Water Taoists, from level 55 (Taoist Star at the Promotion Centre, or the DivineHare book from the Twin City bookseller). What: for 40 seconds you become an armoured hare -- a body with its own health bar, far tougher armour than any robe, quicker feet, and no spells at all.
What the form does
- Your armour becomes the hare's. The form carries its own defence, dodge and accuracy, in place of everything your gear gives you. At skill level 0 that is more armour than most level-55 Taoists wear; the top rung is heavier still.
- Your health bar becomes the hare's. The form has 3,000 health, and it opens at the same fraction your own bar stood at -- half-dead going in, half-dead as a hare. When the form fades, what is left maps back the same way. If the hare's bar runs dry, you die in your own body: it is a shield, not a second life.
- No spells. While transformed every cast is refused -- Cure and Thunder alike. You can still swing what claws the hare has, but they are weak. Move.
- It costs 100 stamina (a full bar), no mana, and lasts 40 seconds. Casting it again while transformed simply starts a fresh 40 seconds.
When to use it
Divine Hare is the answer to "I am being hunted and cannot win this". A Water Taoist's robes turn no blows; the hare's hide does. Take the form, run for the guards or the gate, and let it fade somewhere safe.
Levelling it
Each cast trains the skill by one point, like every buff. The rungs need 1,800 / 4,000 / 5,500 / 9,000 casts and each one buys a tougher form.
