The Hunt
In short: every three hours the server names a species — somewhere on Twin City, Phoenix Castle, Ape Mountain or Bird Island — and the whole realm races. The first player to kill 2,000 of them takes a DragonBall. Every 500 kills anyone reaches is announced by name.
How it works
A herald names the quarry: "THE HUNT: 2,000 Snakemen! First to 2,000 takes a DRAGONBALL. They roam in Ape Mountain (691)." From that moment every one you kill counts — no signing up, no travelling anywhere special, no NPC to click. Just go where they live and start.
- Your own tally is whispered to you every 50 kills.
- Every 500 — 500, 1,000, 1,500 — the realm is told who reached it and how far they are. That is how you know whether you are winning or wasting your evening.
- The first to 2,000 wins. The Hunt closes at once and everyone hears who took it.
- If nobody gets there, the round ends at the next three-hour mark and a fresh species is named.
When
Every three hours, on the hour — 01:00, 04:00, 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00, 19:00, 22:00 server time. Eight races a day, every day. The species is drawn at random each time, so the quarry is never the same two rounds running.
Those hours deliberately dodge the realm's evening slots, so a race never opens in the same minute as the chests (20:00) or the Tyrant of Dis (21:00).
Ask the Royal Herald in Twin City what is being hunted right now and how the standings look.
What gets picked
Only species you can realistically kill 2,000 of: the ordinary field monsters of those four maps, several hundred strong apiece — Pheasants, Turtledoves, Robins, Apparitions, Poltergeists in Twin City; Bandits, Ratlings, FireSpirits, WingedSnakes at Phoenix; Macaques, GiantApes, ThunderApes, Snakemen on Ape Mountain; Birdmen, HawKings and the level-97 Bandits on Bird Island.
The rarer "upgraded" variants — the ones with a level in their name, of which only a few dozen stand on a whole map — are never the quarry, and neither are bosses, kings or guards. A race nobody can finish is not a race.
Worth knowing
- The prize is one DragonBall to one player. Everyone else keeps whatever the monsters dropped along the way, which on a good species is the real reason to join anyway.
- Keep a bag slot free. If your bag is full when you win, the DragonBall waits — you are told to make room and it lands by itself — but only for ten minutes.
- A round survives a server restart: the quarry and every tally are remembered.
- It costs nothing to take part and there is no level requirement. A low-level character hunting Pheasants in Twin City is in exactly the same race as a level 130 on Bird Island.
