Trade Partners
In short: The only way to hand VALUABLE items to another player; a new partnership waits three days before those items may pass.
What: the only way to hand VALUABLE items to another player -- the game refuses such a trade with anyone who is not your trade partner. The catch: a new partnership waits three days before valuable items may pass; ordinary things trade at once.
Why it exists
The trade window will not let a Super piece, a +N item, a socketed weapon or a DragonBall change hands with a stranger. That is the game's own guard against scammers and stolen accounts, and it means a friend you want to share gear with must first be your trade partner for three days.
Becoming partners
- Open the friend window and switch to the Trade Partner tab.
- Add the other player -- they must be online. They get a prompt.
- When they accept (or ask you back within 30 seconds), you are partners. The pane shows the probation counting down from three days.
Either side can end a partnership from the same tab at any time. A list holds up to 40 partners.
What the three days mean
- During the probation you can still trade ordinary items, silver and CPs with each other -- only the valuable ones wait.
- When the timer reaches zero the restriction lifts for that pair, and stays lifted as long as the partnership stands.
- Breaking a partnership and re-adding the same player starts a fresh three days.
Tips
- Add your regular trading friends now, before you need them -- the timer runs whether you are logged in or not.
- Booth sales and NPC trades are unaffected; this is only about the player-to-player trade window.
