The Night of Dis

September 7, 2026 · by Aurenfall Team

A new event for everyone at once. When the herald calls the Night of Dis, type /defend (level 40 and above) and you are carried onto a night square where the Tyrant of Dis is waiting. He is a world boss with health built for fifty players in good gear, and he is not there to be defended -- he hunts you.

How it plays

  • He attacks the nearest defender; his minions pour from the four gates of the square every forty seconds, and more gates open as the minutes pass.
  • Every minute he grows. His blows gain ten percent, and a new power arrives: bolts of fire, a glowing circle on the ground you must leave, a cleave along a line, leaps at whoever he picks, Superman, a ring of fire that is only safe right beside him, Cyclone, and past the eighth minute a rage that makes everything come faster.
  • Every strike is announced a moment before it lands, with the name of the player it is aimed at. Every new power is heralded to the whole server, and so is his health at each quarter.
  • You have two lives. A death here costs no experience and no gear -- the first raises you where you fell, the second sends you home. Nobody can attack a fellow defender on the square.
  • The night ends when he falls, when the last defender falls, or after thirty minutes.

What it pays

The faster he dies, the higher the tier: under six minutes the top damage dealer takes six Meteors, thirty minutes of levelling experience and the top three each take a DragonBall; under twelve, under twenty and later the tiers step down. Your share is your damage -- the tier is a ceiling, and each player takes the part of it that matches their damage against the night's best. Even a lost night pays for the health you took off him.

For now the staff raises the Tyrant by hand and the herald announces it in game; a fixed evening slot comes later. The Royal Herald by the Twin City arrival explains everything, and so does the guide.

Drops, a little more generous

  • DragonBalls fall about twelve percent more often everywhere.
  • +1 stones under Lucky Time fall a quarter more often.
  • Gear and weapons that drop already at +1 are a third more common -- about one piece per three thousand kills on Bird Island.

The drop guide has the new numbers.

The pet keeps its size

The companion pet grew to double size whenever it stood still. That was a fault in how its standing pose was scaled and it is fixed in the client patch that went out this evening -- restart the launcher to pick it up.
